Chesarab Kennels was established in 1957 when Dick and Sheila DiVaccaro wanted to breed good family dogs that were also good hunting dogs. They felt they did that with their Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. Their Chessies have succeded in conformation shows, obedience compititions and hunt tests. In recent years they have added Labrador  Retrievers. The Labs have done well in Field Trieals. Their daughter Moya DiVaccaro Nelson is continuing the Chesapeake Breeding Program and their son Rick DiVaccaro Jr and his wife Mary Beth are running the Labrador program.
