Chesarab Kennels was started in 1957 by Dick and Sheila DiVaccaro.  They wanted a hunting dog that was easy to work with and had  loyal and happy temperaments.

They felt they had that in the Chesapeake Bay Retrievers  they were hunting over and who shared their home .  Now, many years later their children have continued the breeding program. With daughter Moya DiVaccaro Nelson breeding the Chesapeakes and their son Rick DiVaccaro Jr. and his wife MaryBeth with Chesapeakes and field Labradors.
